The Reds won their four game series against the Philadelphia Phillies with a 4-0 victory on Sunday afternoon, taking the final three games after losing the first one on Thursday.
Neither team was able to score until the third inning, where Reds catcher Curt Casali hit an RBI double to break the ice, while second baseman Scooter Gennett followed it up with a two run home run later on in the inning. The Reds continued to hold the Phillies off the board for the remainder of the game, while adding an RBI sacrifice fly by right fielder Phillip Ervin as the Reds went on to win 4-0 and clinch the series.
Reds starting pitcher Luis Castillo had a strong outing, pitching seven shutout innings while giving up just four hits and one walk on the way to a win. Phillies starter Zach Eflin went five and a third innings, giving up four earned runs on seven hits and one walk in the loss. Reds closer Raisel Iglesias picked up the save.
The Reds will next play on Tuesday night on the road against the Detroit Tigers.
