The Reds took down the Milwaukee Brewers 8-2 on Sunday afternoon, salvaging a series split after losing the first two games of the series.
The game began with a big first inning for the Reds as first baseman Joey Votto hit an RBI double, followed by RBI singles by both third baseman Eugenio Suarez and right fielder Scott Schebler as the Reds got a 3-0 lead. In the sixth, the Reds resumed the offensive production as pinch hitter Jesse Winker got an RBI single and shortstop Jose Peraza hit a grand slam home run and while the Brewers responded in the ninth with a two run homer by left fielder Ryan Braun, the Reds would go on to take the 8-2 win.
Reds starting pitcher Matt Harvey went five and two-thirds innings in the win, allowing just two hits and no walks or earned runs in the process, while Brewers starter Freddy Peralta took the loss while allowing three earned runs on five hits and three walks.
The Reds will next play on Monday night at home against the Chicago White Sox.
