The Reds clinched the series victory against the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday night 7-4, after winning the first game on Monday night as well.
The Indians started out with the early lead as shortstop Francisco Lindor and third baseman Jose Ramirez each hit solo homers in the first inning, followed by catcher Roberto Perez driving in a run on a fielding error and Lindor hitting an RBI groundout in the second inning. The Indians would maintain the 4-0 lead for much of the game until the ninth inning rolled around. In the ninth, shortstop Jose Peraza started the rally with an RBI single, followed by a two out two RBI double by left fielder Adam Duvall. With no room for error, first baseman Joey Votto came through with a bases-clearing three RBI double to take the lead. The Reds tacked on an RBI single from third baseman Eugenio Suarez as the Reds took the 7-4 victory.
Reds starting pitcher Sal Romano took a no decision as he went seven and a third innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits and two walks, while Indians starter Trevor Bauer allowed no earned runs on three hits and four walks, also taking a no decision. Reds reliever Kyle Crockett took the win, while Indians relievers Cody Allen and Dan Otero took the loss and the blown save, respectively. Reds reliever Raisel Iglesias took the save.
The Reds will look for the series sweep on Wednesday night.
